It delved into further depths of depravity than the first in the trilogy. This one was set in England and features a character so far removed from the original protagonist as possible, an enthusiastic amateur as opposed to a twisted surgeon. <br /><br />I can't say I enjoyed the experience but I didn't loathe the film either. I understand why the BBFC refused to give it a certificate although I don't feel they have the right to tell adults what they can and can't watch. I will be tracking down a copy of the final part which I understand ups the "sick" ante even further. I will leave that doubtful pleasure for some months though. Let's hope whoever eventually directs The Hobbit does not shirk from showing the deaths of some of the Dwarf characters, it was read to us by our teacher when I was 9 or 10 and it is still my favourite book. This sudden change in mood was ingenious. I will recommend it to some old friends though who have stronger stomachs than I. I agree with your rating :( I would advise most people to avoid it.
