I don't understand why I keep doing this. I walk into a movie that I whole-heartedly know beforehand is going to be a long brainless comedy with many cheap laughs (and rare good laughs, mostly vulgar ones), which will never stimulate me to think about any element in the universe for even a fraction of a second. Yeah, yeah, Jonah Hill is a great actor, and I'm his true fan, but that's no excuse to knowingly waste your time, because life is too short. Don't be deceived by the ads and good reviews; you can pass on this one.
PS: How did Johnny Depp get lured into this for a cameo?

ReplyDeleteJohnny Depp was no doubt lured by $$$$$$ most film stars succumb to greed in the end. I'm sure I would in his position.
But then why a so-so?
ReplyDelete@ Toast: I respect Johnny Depp for "usually" (if we can forget "The Tourist") makes good movie choices. That's why even a good amount of $$$ shouldn't be a factor for stars who make a lot of $$$ anyway.
ReplyDelete@ Mohi: just because I have to follow my own scoring rules. The movie didn't bore me to the point of giving it a No-Mo. After all, I was following the movie. But at the end I felt tricked for watching a teenager's movie, while there are so many good films out there to watch.
