Chloe (2009)

Director: Atom Egoyan. Cast: Julianne Moore, Amanda Seyfreid, Liam Neeson. 96 min. Rated R. USA/Canada/France. Drama.

This is a good movie gone wrong. What starts out as an attractive story about marital relations with exceptional acting and interesting conversations, suddenly flips into a Fatal Attraction-like travesty, and after that, the story falls apart. Mainly predictable, but boy, can Julianne Moore act.

  1. what amazing life story about a Gynecologist! Not as smart as she was expected! Fault after fault!

    Doubt that the stars are fire;
    Doubt that the sun doth move;
    Doubt truth to be a liar;
    But never doubt I love. ("Hamlet")

  2. And she (as a GYN) had such a simplistic view towards life! Saying "climax" is "just a few muscle contractions" ...

    Whaaaaat?

  3. I don't know why it reminded me of " the bitter moon"
    It is a grate phobia getting old, no attraction, lack of attention and while you are not get used to it ...is a big loss: youth

    The old believe everything, the middle-aged suspect everything; the young know everything.
    - Oscar Wilde

    but she was young enough to play such a dirty trick on him ..... and honestly saying the house was special in architecture

  4. Probably what I couldn't buy was to see such an innocent looking Amanda Seyfreid be able to play such a dirty trick (but then again, did she? ;-) ). I think the biggest mistake was casting Seyfreid for the role.

  5. I agree. Such a stupid mind in a gynecologist was surprising! Actually I found Amanda's Performance and also choosing her for such a role, great. I think this paradox(between her innocent looks and her dirty act)made the subject more attractive.

  6. Hmmmmm, that is a possibility. People are more than meets they eye? Probably that's why she was chosen for the role.

    But she still looks too innocent!
