Silver Linings Playbook (2012)

Director: David O. Russell. Cast: Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Jacki Weaver, Chris Tucker, Julia Stiles. 122 min. Rated R. Comedy/Drama/Romance.

Winner of this year's Toronto Film Festival People's Choice Award, and destined to be an Oscar contender. The story of two individuals with a history of a nervous breakdown in the past, as the most unmatchable people on the planet. I really don't want to spoil anything further, because you need to experience the honesty that exudes from every corner of this film on your own. In accordance with other Russell films (especially The Fighter, with its suburban Philadelphia setting), there's great writing and great acting all around. Not a romantic movie fan, but this is hands-down the genuine article.

  1. In contrast of my expectation , the romantic theme of movie didn't draw my attraction basically .The interesting fact was the art of making comedy in such sensitive concept : mental illness .Sometimes I didn't know should I laugh or not ?Am I allowed ?! when it's hard for me to express my emotion as an audience let alone to filmmaker to provide such atmosphere? but he handled this hard task very well and did great job at last .

Besides ,this movie is sort of works whose credit goes back to all castings. The supporting actors & actresses are brilliant as leading role performances. All of them even Indian psychiatric! Sweet DeNiro !It's not his first time to amuse us as a comic nice father ... He's always hilarious
Anyway thanks for recommendation. Good start for my marathon to Golden globe;-)

  2. Wow ... I'm surprised! Being a romantic movie fan, I thought you would very impressed by this one; and I'm more surprised that I was more impressed than you! Maybe because I wasn't expecting Bradley Cooper to carry a movie almost entirely on his own (while surrounded with such good actors), or because the extremely blunt dialogue was so engaging, or because of the trick the story plays at the end (which is portrayed to make you think the goal for our heroes is to be better than those experienced dancers, even though we are "specifically" told earlier that's not the goal, and we are still suddenly excited from the end result), were part of the many reasons I enjoyed this movie so much.
