The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012)

Director: Stephen Chbosky. Cast: Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, Ezra Miller, Dylan McDermott, Kate Walsh, Nina Dobrev, Paul Rudd, Melanie Lynskey, Joan Cusack. 102 min. Rated PG-13. Drama.

Lonely 16-year-old is a complete high school misfit, and gets "adopted" by a brother-sister pair, who've probably been through the same in their own freshman year. Exceptionally honest (and heartwarming) movie about adolescence, dealing with all aspects: self-esteem, sexual awareness, and even mental illness. Lerman as the lead role isn't anything groundbreaking, but I couldn't imagine anybody more perfect as the sister and brother than Emma Watson (Harry Potter) and Ezra Miller (We Need to Talk About Kevin). By the surprise end, I felt I knew these characters in and out, and wished they were my friends in high school.

PS: Great quote: "You can't choose where you come from, but you can choose where you go from there."

    1. I guess (and this is just a guess), that in movie terminology, "sexy" means "extremely attractive", or having great "cinematic chemistry" - rather than the purely sexual figures Pamela Anderson or Kim Kardashian may be considered. If you look at Emma Watson that way, she has a very attractive cinematic presence, without being overtly sexual (she does the same in Sofia Coppola's "The Bling Ring", although that movie is not as good as this one). Another example similar to her from years ago may be Sigourney Weaver. I believe that's a great positive feature for an actress.

  2. From this perspective , you're right. I thought the sexy means something beyond attractiveness, something like erotic appearance and transfer such impact to audience It depends to their physic as well as language body like the way they looking or t or their gesture which is highlighted by the character they present in a particular movie or as general almost create WOW! I saw this feature in Sharon Stone, Monica Belluci,Merylin Monroe,Kim Basigner, Halle Berry , Scarlett Johansson Salma Hayek , Angelina Jolie ,....about actor : Vincent Cassel or Michael Fassbender . I hope you get what I mean !
